I have to admit, I used to spend at least an hour and a half getting ready for any type of party. As a make up artist and makeup lover I have a hard time not perfecting every step of the process, it’s just the way I am. However, Fast forward to July 2017 when I had my first baby and realized I no longer have 1-2 hours to dance around my apartment while doing my makeup. I quickly learned that I would need to pull out all the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years to get that flawless look in a matter of minutes.
Below, I’m going to hook you up with a quick ten minute glitter eye that will make you stand out an any party.
Step 1 || Add a warm crease colour
For this step you can add any bronzer or warm tone. Just buff some colour into the crease and lightly across the lid if you want. My personal fave colours to do this with are Anastasia Beverly Hills in ‘Raw Sienna’ or ‘Burnt Orange’. Don’t forget to drag this colour along the bottom lash line too.
Step 2 || pick your glitter of choice.
Pick whatever colour glitter you want. You can go bold or subtle, whatever suits your mood. Now, you can apply it two ways. You can swipe it across the entire lid or you can do a halo effect(just the centre). I like both looks, it will really depend on the look you’re trying to achieve, but both are equally gorgeous. I love using the Stila Glitter and Glow liquid eyeshadows. They have almost no fall out and you can easily apply it with the applicator it comes with or just use your finger. It also has amazing staying power.
Step 3 || Wing it Out (this is optional)
Some people don’t want liner and that’s totally fine. I love a good wing and think it adds a little sexiness to the eye, but you do you girl. If you do add a wing I love stila liquid liner or Kat Von D tattoo liner. Just make sure its waterproof, no one wants to arrive to the party looking like a hot damn mess…am I right?
Step 4 || lashes (also optional)
I say optional, but it’s kind of a must. Like, your going to a party and want to look fly AF, why not put some flirty lashes on to complete the look. You can add a natural lash or a dramatic lash it’s totally your call. I personally like something flirty and wispy. Ardell Demi Wispy lashes or Huda Beauty lashes in “Samantha” are two of my faves.
